Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week? It’s always been a day\u00a0that has snuck up on me. This time of the year can be busy and overwhelming for a lot of people and the thoughts of planning your Thanksgiving table maybe the last thing on your mind but I wanted to take the time today to share some simple touches that I’m adding to make the day a little more special.<\/p>\n

I had plans to set my dining room table for this post and when I went to grab my pumpkin vase that I had made a few weeks ago (you can see that here) I realized the bottom of the pumpkin was completely rotten. You can imagine the fun mess I cleaned off my table. I know it probably makes me look like the worlds worst housekeeper but I suspect some of you have let a pumpkin or two go bad as well. With only one pumpkin vase still in good order, I scrapped the plan and set my breakfast table instead. I’d like to think of it as a happy accident!<\/p>\n

It reminded me that there are not only big families but small ones too. Whether you’re sharing the table with a house full of guests or just those three people that are closest to you, this is a tablescape that works for any size family!<\/p>\n

This classic china belongs to my husband’s cousin who lives next door to us. We’re lucky to have great neighbors and even more lucky that they’re family (the good kind)! I feel in love with the pattern from the very first time I saw it. I took the colors from it as inspiration for the fresh floral arrangement that’s the centerpiece.<\/p>\n

I added some little pumpkins I had on hand, candlesticks and small tea light candles to create a warm atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Setting the table with just\u00a0the simplest touches can transform an ordinary table into something really special. Creating a table that’s cozy, inviting and interesting provides a place for your friends and family to break bread together and fellowship with one another. When I think of Thanksgiving I think of lifelong memories made. It doesn’t have to be overly fancy to be perfect.\u00a0I hope this humble little table inspires you to try something different this Thanksgiving! I just know you’ll have a beautiful and memorable day!<\/p>\n
