I don’t know that I’ve been this excited over finishing a room in our house yet. I probably say this every time but this room might be my favorite room so far! Lets take a walk down memory lane, shall we? These photos are from the first week after we got the house. The room had furniture and an old fridge, all left from the previous owners. Sharpie marker lined the walls and the hardwood floors were looking pretty sad. That natural lighting however was heavenly! I could just see the jewel that was hiding under all those marker stained walls.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where are we today, 6 months later . . .<\/span><\/p>\n

The old textured ceilings are gone and are now beautiful planked ceilings. The walls are a fresh white and that old wood floor has a warm, textured rug. Sadly the floors do not seem to be salvageable but for now a large area rug does the trick. The chandelier got a FREE update. Goodbye brass and hello wood grain! I’ll be sharing that tutorial with you soon.<\/span><\/p>\n

I truly feel that this humble little dining room is now the epitome of the colonial style. It’s cozy yet has a formal feel, perfect for our family get togethers. I see many delicious meals and fun family game nights in this dining room’s future! <\/span><\/p>\n

Have a great week friends! We’ve got a busy week ahead preparing for our dear friends who I think of as family who are coming into town next week to stay with us for a while.
