I am so pleased to be apart of a new series called Hospitality filled Homes along with some of my favorite blogger friends. It’s all about getting those houses in order before the holidays so that we are able to welcome family and friends in our homes and just enjoy time together. I’m a true believer in planning ahead. Past experiences has shown me the more I get done a head of time the less I’m running around frantic when I should be spending the time with loved ones. Let’s plan ahead and start now friends and truly enjoy the holidays!<\/p>\n

As the seasons change, I always love to switch up the wreath on my front door. It’s one of the first things people see coming into my home. I want our home to be as welcoming as possible. Lately I have been admiring all the beautiful magnolia leaf wreaths I’ve been seeing. There is something so simple yet so elegant about them. They ‘re such a big icon in the south and I wanted a little bit of that for my own door. Most magnolia wreaths that you find in stores or online are not exactly budget friendly. After seeing a few this summer I was inspired to make my own for much less! Here’s how I did it.<\/p>\n

I took a trip to Hobby Lobby and picked up a straw wreath for around $3. Tip- Leave the plastic on it, much less mess! Hobby Lobby had their garlands 50% off at the time, so I paid $7 for the magnolia garland. You can always use their 40% off coupon from their website. I also purchased a couple acrylic paints in white and beige and a pack of floral pins. <\/p>\n

  I decided to break up the green by adding a few leaves to the wreath that I painted with the acrylic paint. I did this at randomly.<\/p>\n

I applied two coats and laid them flat to dry. Once the paint had dried, I pinned them to the wreath making sure the last one overlapped the one before it.<\/p>\n

I did one layer across the front and a second later around the sides of the wreath. Once you have it covered like you want, pin a burlap bow or bow of choice onto the wreath and it’s finished! You can follow it up by spraying a floral weather protector on it.<\/p>\n

This was such a simple wreath to make. It only took an hour or so from start to finish. To be completely honest, you could use this wreath right into the Christmas holidays!<\/p>\n
