Our kitchen is where we send a lot of family time during the holidays. From baking cookies, to entertaining friends and family, this room is our work horse. It’s important to me that it functions well and feels lived-in during the Christmas season. I hope you find our simple, yet timeless Christmas cottage kitchen inspiring! <\/i><\/h4>\n

What a week it’s been! I can’t believe we’re already on day three of our Christmas home tour. On Tuesday I shared our foyer<\/em><\/a>, and yesterday I shared our living room<\/em><\/a>. Today is all about the kitchen and our butler’s pantry. I’ve joined a few friends for a fun blog hop. You’ll find all kinds of holiday kitchen inspiration. Our kitchen is the work horse for our home. I’ve never been one for lots of decor in this space. I like to keep the countertops as clutter-free as possible for cooking and baking, so instead you’ll find more simple touches of the season. <\/p>\n

In the past I’ve aways hung a cedar wreath on our hood vent, but I thought I switch things up this year. Using a strand of garland I already had on hand, I simply folded it in half and secured it with a little floral wire. I used two 3M hooks to hang the garland to the hood. We keep a tiny nail in the hood where I usually hang wreaths throughout the year, so I added some velvet ribbon to the back of my vintage frame using a thumb tack and hung it above the garland.  <\/p>\n

Each year I hang my vintage cookie molds on the wall above my baking counter. I just swap out the ribbon to keep it fresh. There’s something really special about using certain decor items year after year. I always look forward to hanging them up. I was just telling a friend yesterday that it’s nice to decorate with a few things that are familiar each Christmas. The molds, a bottle brush tree and a holiday scented candle is all this space needs to feel festive. <\/p>\n

Our breakfast nook is extremely simple this year especially compared to last year’s breakfast nook. You can see that below. I have to admit, I feel a bit silly even sharing it today. I didn’t even add any greenery to my shelves, not sure how I feel about that. Instead, I hung two wreaths on each window with a little ribbon. After going all out in the space each year, I just wanted something more simple. In the next week or two I’ll add a tablecloth or runner . . .\"English<\/p>\n

Our New Pantry<\/em><\/h4>\n

I used the same method to hang some garland over our pantry’s doorway. It adds a little warmth and color to the hallway. You can see the full renovation of our pantry HERE<\/em><\/a>. It’s a space that Josh and I built from scratch and has quickly become one of my favorite rooms in our home.<\/p>\n

A added a few Santas from my collection. The tall ceramic Santa in the back plays “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, my favorite Christmas song. It’s extra special to me because it was my grandmothers. It was the start of my love of Santa figurines years ago.<\/p>\n

Some simple green sprigs give the plate rack a little color and texture. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n
