Hello friends! Spring is on its way and I know that most of you probably won’t agree with me, but I’m a little sad to see winter go. I find the winter season to be restful and a great time to press the reset button on my home. As sad as I am to say goodbye, I’m warming up to the idea of welcoming spring. Yesterday I put together the cheeriest floral arrangement for our family room. It just might convince me to look forward to the lovely spring season that will soon be upon us.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you didn’t catch my IG stories<\/em><\/a> yesterday, this arrangement is made almost completely of faux stems. I’m slowly beginning to appreciate faux flowers more and more, in the right setting of course. Today, I’m going to share how you can create your own spring flower arrangement that will last all season!<\/p>\n

If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time you know my love for fresh flowers. In the almost 16 years Josh and I have been married, I have tried to make a point to have some kind of fresh flowers or greenery in our home every month. They can bring so much life to your decor and really usher in the current season. Honestly, they just make me so dang happy! For years I was strictly a real flower gal, until recently. A couple of years ago I challenged myself to create an autumn arrangement<\/em><\/strong><\/a> using faux stems. Over time I played with adding more and more faux stems in each arrangement, while still keep them realistic looking. Let’s face it, the longevity of faux florals is very appealing. <\/p>\n

Friends, I believe I’ve found the key to creating a faux arrangement that looks real! The key is fresh or real greenery stems. Sure, you want good quality faux stems, nothing with loose stitched fabric or too plastic looking, but the greenery is such a large component. I don’t usually buy greenery, but instead clip it from my yard. Trees, shrubs and even pesky weeds can work. You just need enough to sprinkle throughout your arrangement. You’ll find that your eyes gravitate towards it right away. It’s as if the brain then assumes all the blooms are also real. Natural greenery adds real texture, color and interest, making for a realistic flower arrangement! <\/p>\n
