Throughout the eight years I\u2019ve been blogging I\u2019ve received a number of questions here on the blog as well as on Facebook and Instagram. They\u2019ve consisted of paint color questions to questions asking where I\u2019ve bought this or that. Many questions I\u2019ve received time and time again. <\/span><\/p>\n

For months now I\u2019ve wanted to compile a list of those frequently asked questions. Today, I\u2019m happy to share that list with you all! They\u2019re in no particular order, but I hope they\u2019ll be helpful for those who may have some of the same questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Cozy<\/p>\n

Where do you purchase your fabrics?<\/h4>\n

Over the years I\u2019ve learned to get creative when it comes to shopping for fabric. Good quality fabric can be expensive and when there isn\u2019t room in the budget for the fabric I want, I like to search Etsy and antique stores\/markets. I also will use duvets, tablecloths, and curtains from Ballard Designs outlet, Homegoods and TJ Max as fabric for other projects. <\/p>\n

\"Favorite<\/p>\n

What are your favorite local antique stores?<\/h4>\n

I have a number of places I like to look for antiques and home decor. My favorite local shops are – The Green Bean antique store in Cumming, Ga., Queen of Hearts antique store in Alpharetta, Ga., The Cobb Antique Market in Marietta, Ga, The Lakewood Antique Market in Cumming, GA., The Cotton Depot in Monroe, GA, and The Franklin Antique Mall in Franklin, Tn.<\/p>\n

What color are your kitchen cabinets painted?<\/h4>\n

Our cabinets, trim and walls are all painted in Swiss coffee by Benjamin Moore in a satin\/pearl finish. You can read more about our kitchen renovation HERE<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n

Where did you buy your upholstered ottoman?<\/h4>\n

What color is your living room walls painted?<\/h4>\n

The walls and trim are all painted in Simple White by Benjamin Moore in a satin finish. <\/p>\n

Do you offer design services?<\/h4>\n

I currently do not. In the past I have done a few projects with clients. However, I found it to be a bit much with homeschooling Charlie and keeping up the blog. It is something I’ve considered for the future. <\/p>\n

How do you keep your upholstered furniture so clean?<\/h4>\n

It’s not always 100% clean with an 8 year old boy and dog running around, but I have found furniture that is slipcovered is the way to go. I love being able to throw our slipcovers into the washing machine and not feel as though I have to worry. We do have rules about eating on the sofas but for the most part, slipcovers have been our saving grace when it comes  to keeping our upholstery clean.<\/p>\n

How did you finish your butcher block counter tops & do you love them?<\/h4>\n

After five years of butcher block counter tops, I can say we really do love them! Last year we refinished them for the first time and your can read all about that HERE<\/strong>. We chose to stain them in Provincial by Minwax and sealed them with poly. You\u2019ll also find all of our thoughts on them there. <\/p>\n

Where did you purchase your checkered wingback chair?<\/h4>\n

This vintage Ethan Allen chair was a yard sale find for only $40. It had recently been recovered by the previous owner and was in amazing condition. It belonged to her mother and had rarely been sat in. It\u2019s a favorite second-hand find of mine. <\/p>\n

What are your favorite white paint colors?<\/h4>\n

I have a number of favorite paint colors in neutral and bold colors. I do have a love for warm white colors. I love a bright, neutral back drop against pops of colors from fabrics and accessories. Here is a list of my favorite warm white paint colors –<\/p>\n

Where do you look for seasonal decorating inspiration?<\/h4>\n

Each fall and Christmas season I always seem to get questions on where I find my inspiration or where do I like to look for decor. I’ve always loved old things. Autumn and Christmas decor is no exception to that. To be honest, I love to look through vintage Victoria, Country Living and Martha Stewart magazines. Martha Stewart living is among my favorites. Most of her issues are timeless and still relevant today. I’ve collected them for years, finding them on Etsy, thrift stores and antiques stores for just a dollar or two an issue. I also have found inspiration through the years while watching movies. The set of You’ve Got Mail, White Christmas and Holiday Inn has always been inspiring to me this time of the year. <\/p>\n
