From time to time I love to share home tours of old and new homes. I always find home tours to be inspiring and a great way to gain creative design ideas for my own home, like the 1930’s Atlanta home tour feature<\/a>. Isn’t it fun to see how others have created home? I couldn’t help but to be in awe when I came across this gorgeous coastal home tour in St. Simons’, right here in Georgia. This home is classic in every sense of the word and its grounds and views of the water are so picturesque. <\/p>\n

The owner, Elizabeth Brunson hired an old friend and Atlanta interior designer – Liz Williams to help with the overall design of the home as well as good friend Chip Evans of Evans & Varnadoe Construction to build the house. With the help of architect Thad Truett, the goal was to was to create a home that worked for the present and beyond. They have sons that are almost grown but wanted a home that would fit there needs in the future as their family grows. <\/span><\/p>\n

For the exteriors, Truett looked to classic Southern vernaculars. \u201cThere is some Lowcountry and Creole influence. It\u2019s a hybrid,\u201d he says. Elizabeth wanted the house to look like it had been here forever. <\/p>\n

It has a wonderful mix of traditional and coastal feel to it. They wanted a place that family could come and relax while watching Georgia football. The formal living room off of the foyer is fresh and sophisticated with a nice mix of new and antique pieces. <\/p>\n

The wooden beams really bring in so much warmth to each room, adding a cozy touch. <\/p>\n

The kitchen is made for entertaining. There’s several bar stools and a large dining table for family and friends to gather. I love that they chose inset cabinet doors, such a classic element. The floor to ceiling windows flood the room with tons of natural lighting.  <\/p>\n

The family room is timeless with its brick fireplace and wood paneled walls. It just cries out for family game night. It has a certain Ralph Lauren look to it. 
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

The master bedroom and bathroom just might be my favorite two rooms. The sweet bay window with upholstered armchairs and ottoman is so charming and inviting. The room is dressed in soft, soothing colors and flows into a white and powder blue bathroom with beautiful floral wallpaper.

The next bedroom is just as beautiful with it’s pops of green and warm wood tones. <\/p>\n

The blue and white florals of this room really spoke to me. The headboard is something I would love to have in my own bedroom and the adjoining bath has such a timeless feel.

\n\"\"<\/p>\n

Last stop, the screened-in porch with brick paved floor. Everything about this space has a timeless feel to it. From the brick to the tongue and groove ceiling, it’s all so classic. I think I could sit right there all summer. <\/p>\n

There’s so many stunning details in this home and you can read more about it HERE<\/a>. I’ve always dreamed of having a home by the water. For now, I’ll just drool over this one! What was your favorite room of the tour? <\/p>\n
