Today, It’s all about closets, dream closets that is! I’ve had closets on the brain lately because Josh and I are in the planning phase of our own master bedroom closet renovation. We’ve been anxiously awaiting the day that we’d be able to tackle it. We decide in December, after finishing our guest room reno<\/a>, this was the year! For the last couple of weeks I’ve been researching different custom closet options. There are so many inspiriting and stunning walk-in closets out there, but maximizing our space while still staying within our budget will be the main challenge for this project.<\/p>\n

From custom designer closets, to Ikea hacks, the closets below are a mix of both. Can you tell which is which? Each of these closets are gorgeous in their own right. Our closet is not as large as most of these, but they all have inspiring elements that we hope to incorporate into our closet. I’m kicking off the list with my gal, Martha! <\/p>\n

\"\"Martha Stwart<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

In 2018 she converted a small guest room in her NYC apartment into a spacious closet. I don’t know about you but I’m loving the marble topped folding station. The mix of brass, a warm paint color and rich wood tones are perfection! <\/p>\n

If only we could all have a sweet window like that one in our closets. The natural lighting in this space is so pretty, as are the warm counter tops and floors. <\/p>\n

\"\"Closet by Hammersmith Atlanta<\/em><\/p>\n

You’ll notice that in this list you’ll see several blue\/gray to light blue closets. I’m feeling really drawn to those colors for this project. I love the understate elegance that it gives. This closet incorporates drawers into the design perfectly. We would also like to have drawers similar to these on each side of our closet with shelves above for folded sweaters and jeans. <\/p>\n

This closet requires no words. The beautiful mahogany speaks for itself. If Josh had a closet all to himself, this would be it! He’s a sucker for rich, wood paneled walls. This closet really speaks to our love of traditional English style. <\/p>\n

All of the hanging space in this closet is just dreamy. Josh and I will about this much total between the two of us, but a girl can dream! <\/p>\n

This closet, or should I say dressing room<\/em>, in an English estate had me at first sight. The wallpaper alone is just the icing on the cake. The built-in cabinets with mirrored paneled doors are stunning! There is natural lighting for days with more storage than I would know what to do with. <\/p>\n

This closet is very similar to the space we are working with. I love the mix of drawers with hanging space. The shelf\/cubbies across the very top are just what I had in mind for our closet. <\/p>\n

Again, the blue! It’s just so peaceful. All of those drawers just make my heart happy, but I love this closet for so many reasons, including the antique brass chandelier. <\/p>\n

This one might be a little more petite but that curved window seat makes up for it. There’s so much elegance in this little corner.  <\/p>\n

Chris & Julia has really sold me on the PAX system from Ikea with this closet. Would have thought? They built the wardrobes in perfectly. Josh and I are inspired by this timeless look and that leather ottoman, so gorgeous!  <\/p>\n

I loved this space instantly. We would love to eventually incorporate glass doors into our closet. Custom doors are not in the budget currently, so they’ll have to wait. I love the thought of keeping everything dust free, but still keeping everything visible. <\/p>\n

Here is another stunning closet makeover using the Ikea PAX wardrobes. I love the green paint choice and the fun touch of wallpaper on the ceiling. It’s such a chic space! <\/p>\n

Simply and classy. That’s what comes to mind when I look at this closet. Again, the glass doors are amazing and the built-in drawers are perfect!<\/p>\n

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all have a cozy fireplace in our closets? I’m also a big fan or the marble topped island. I can just picture it full of scarves, jewelry and hair accessories. I think my life would be complete, ha! <\/p>\n

I love the soft colors of this closet. They also used the PAX system from Ikea and their space is on the smaller side, as is ours. It just goes to show, if the closet is carefully planned, it can still offer the right amount of storage. <\/p>\n

We’re still in the planning phase but hope to have our closet layout finalized soon. It will most likely be a combination of store-bought cabinets and custom trim and drawers. I can’t wait to share all the details that we have planned, along with a break down of the budget. I’m curious, what’s on your must-have list for a master bedroom closet? <\/p>\n
