The last few days have been such a wonderful reminder that spring is on its way! We’ve had some warmer weather and our daffodils bloomed this weekend. It’s been so nice to get outside to walk and ride bikes again. Charlie has been in heaven! I’ve also been working on some fun spring projects this week that I’ll be sharing throughout the upcoming weeks with you. Today, we’re going to take a look back at a few spring decorating ideas and recipes that I’ve shared on the blog. <\/p>\n

It doesn’t take much to add a spring feel to your home.  Just the smallest touches can really bring the season inside. Here’s just a few of my past decorating ideas and a few recipes that are perfectly delicious for the spring season!<\/p>\n

\"PrettySpring Centerpiece – Two Different Ways<\/a><\/h4>\n

Centerpieces are very versatile d\u00e9cor pieces. I love to use them, not only on our dining table, but on our coffee table and accent tables. This Easter basket is a great option for a centerpiece. The chicks and tulips are both perfect for spring!<\/p>\n

\"SpringA Traditional Spring Vignette<\/a><\/h4>\n

Vignettes can be as simple or complex as you choose. I always lean towards simple, the less is more moto. It gives a space an elegant understated looks. This arrangement on our antique stretcher base table is a mix of real and faux stems. Mixing the two gives the whole arrangement a realistic look and feel. <\/p>\n


\n\"SpringSimple Hanging Egg Tree<\/a><\/h4>\n

I don’t think we can make it through a spring season without gathering a few sticks from the yard and hanging some fun pastel colored eggs on them. It’s an easy project for little ones and only takes a small window of time to accomplish. We reuse our eggs year after year, so this project doesn’t cost us a dime. <\/p>\n

\"SpringTulips In A Nest Arrangement<\/a><\/h4>\n

This flower arrangement might be my favorite of all time! The nest idea was loosely based on an arrangement that Martha Stewart<\/a> once did. It consisted of tulips and daffodils from both our local grocery store and our yard. The nest was a grapevine wreath that was simply pulled apart and loosened. A ceramic bowl served as the vessel that held the water and flowers. You can find the full tutorial with photos with the link above. <\/p>\n

\"SpringBlooming Nest Spring Tablescape<\/a><\/h4>\n

I used that same nest arrangement in a spring tablescape we created for brunch with friends. It was quite the centerpiece. With some gingham napkins and sweet ceramic bunnies, this table setting was just perfect for the spring season. <\/p>\n

\"SpringLemon Drop Scones<\/a><\/h4>\n

Sconces is one of my favorite indulgent breakfast foods. Combine scones and lemon and I’m one happy camper. These are a favorite breakfast treat of ours. It’s a perfect fresh spring recipe! <\/p>\n

\"SpringFun Spring Children’s Table<\/a><\/h4>\n

Last year Charlie out grew his little vintage table that he had. To say that I was a little sad would be an understatement. The seasons with little ones is so short, so I’m glad I got several holiday ideas in with that little table. This Easter setting was fun and extremely simple. We threw it together in just half an hour and it created a fun environment for Charlie and a couple of friends to enjoy a yummy cookie cake together. <\/p>\n

\"SpringHow To Make A Hanging Flower Vase<\/a><\/h4>\n

This idea is so simple, I almost didn’t blog about it. Although, you need a vase that is the right shape to hang, you can make this little arrangement in a hurry and it’s just the sweetest! I typically use a door that doesn’t get much action. You could always hang it on coat hooks on the wall or on hanging flower pot steaks outside for a fun gathering as well. <\/p>\n

\"SpringEasy Envelope Pillow Cover with Piping<\/a><\/h4>\n

Pillow covers always get switched out for the changing seasons in our house. Fresh pillow covers are a great way to recognize the current season in your home. For years I struggled to find the perfect covers. A few years ago, I gave up and started making my own. When you make your own you’re not limited to what the stores have to offer. You can get just the look you’re going for. This envelope pillow cover is a great project to start with if you’re just beginning to sew.<\/p>\n

\"SpringThe Perfect Coconut Cupcakes<\/a><\/h4>\n

Those of you who are not a fan of coconut may disagree, but I don’t think spring would be complete without a little coconut. These cupcakes are easy to throw together and the cream cheese frosting paired with the coconut is oh so good!<\/p>\n

\"SpringQuick & Easy Roman Shade<\/a> <\/h4>\n

There’s just something about spring that always gets me thinking of new projects around our home. Two years ago I used the sunny spring season to make this roman shade for the my office. I suppose it’s not technically a real roman shade, but it has the same great look and for far less cost than I was going to pay for something similar. <\/p>\n

\"\"Grandma’s Classic Coconut Cake<\/a> <\/h4>\n

Each year my mom or myself will make my grandmothers coconut cake recipe for our Easter lunch. We may not have the magic touch quite like my grandmother did with this cake, but it’s still so good! Easter just wouldn’t be the same without it. <\/p>\n

If you’ve been in a decorating rut this winter, I hope some of these ideas can inspire you this spring. Sometimes all we need to gain a new prospective on our homes is some fresh d\u00e9cor. No matter how little or big, some fresh flowers or a homemade pillow cover can be just the thing we need to fall in love with our homes again.
