I searched for some time for the perfect pot rack for our kitchen. The DIY pot rack using a tension rod and hooks is just that! It displays my vintage copper beautifully and cost less than $10! Today I’m share what you need and how to do it. <\/em><\/h4>\n

If you follow my blog on Instagram you probably remember that I shared our new pot rack, complete with some of my vintage copper cookware. I had plans to share this simple trick here on the blog  shortly after I did it but time got away from me. Isn’t that just like life! Today I’ve joined a few fellow bloggers to share our ideas and projects for a cozy home as part of the Cozy Living Series, hosted by my friend Jennifer from Town and Country Living<\/a>. I can’t think of many things that I find more cozy or homey than my vintage copper. <\/p>\n

Vintage copper cookware is something that I’ve been collecting since I’ve been married, almost 14 years… eek! Ever since I was a little I would spend my summer mornings watching the Martha Stewart show. I fell in love with all of the copper cookware hanging over her island in her Turkey Hill home. It was just so charming! That space stuck with me and as soon as I started to put my own kitchen together I made sure to see out copper pieces with antique shopping. For years I’ve kept more of my copper pans put away in the cabinet but last month I decided it was finally time to put them on display where they belong. Here’s what I came up with. <\/p>\n

I started out looking for a pot rack that would fit nicely on the wall behind my range but each one that I found required holes to be drilled into the backsplash. I just couldn’t bring myself to make holes in our honed marble tile. I quickly decided that I would need to come up with something on my own. I wanted something simple, clean and elegant. Most of the solutions that I was seeing were just too bulky or rustic. After walking around Lowes and a couple of craft stores for a couple of hours with zero solutions I went home feeling defeated. Wouldn’t you know it that as soon as I walked down our hallway I spotted a tension rod. Just like that, I had a light bulb moment! <\/p>\n

I decided to use an inexpensive tension rod to go across the bottom of our range hood. I rests security on the lip of the exhaust hood. For the hooks I picked up these long gold ones from Hobby Lobby in the organizing section. I wanted the hooks to be slidable and to be on the longer side for that my posts hung down far enough on the backsplash. To keep them balanced you don’t want them too high or too low. This quick and simple solution came in under $10 and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome! <\/p>\n

Most of my pans are medium to light-weight. I don’t know that this would be the best solution for very heavy pots and pans, possibly if you have a thicker rod. If you’re like me and just want to display your pots and have smaller, lighter pans this is a perfect solution. <\/p>\n

I love that a simple tension rod and some hooks have made the perfect pot rack. The copper has added so much warmth to the space and the best part is that I didn’t have to make holes in our marble. I like to know that I can change things in the future and not have to worry about fixing holes. For that reason I think this would be great solution for those who rent or also have a backsplash that they wish to keep in tact. Be sure to check out more cozy living posts below.
