How can it be that Christmas is only four weeks away? Time has snuck up on my again friends but at least our mantel is ready and looking festive for the holiday season! Today I’m joining some talented friends for the Season’s Simplicity hop, hosted by Krista at The Happy Housie<\/a> to share our Christmas mantels with you. <\/p>\n

Our mantel looks a little different each year and honestly I never know quite what I’m going to do until I jump in. This year was no different. I knew I wanted to incorporate my mercury glass trees that I’ve been collecting but that was about it. I decided to start by hanging a natural looking wreath. I normally hang a real boxwood wreath but sadly, this year they’re unavailable in my area due to a boxwood shortage. I did however find this faux cedar wreath<\/a> and have been very happy it it. I’m really pleased with the realistic look!  <\/p>\n

I decided to go with natural garland to add some color and texture. I think it pairs with the glass trees beautifully! I don’t add garland to our mantel every year but some years I do and I always love the wonderful smell it gives our family room and I love to use real cedar garland anywhere I can! <\/p>\n

For a little extra sparkle I incorporated some vintage glass ornaments into the garland. The mix of fresh greenery and silver glass work so well together. I used simple wire hooks to attach them to the garland branches. <\/p>\n

If you follow my IG stories you might remember that French market basket that I purchased a couple of months ago from my favorite antique store. Until recently it’s been in our foyer holding umbrellas. For the Christmas I moved it into our family room and I kinda love it here. The wicker basket pairs with our cream fireplace mantel beautifully! For now it holds Christmas presents. <\/p>\n

One think I love about mercury glass trees is that they’re all different. Not one is just like another. I used a trees with different patterns and heights to create the look. I purchased them in different places, mostly Homegoods and Pottery Barn. I linked the ones that I could below. <\/p>\n

This was a simple way to decorate the mantel but I love the outcome! It’s such a classic look with a touch of elegance. I have loved the glow of the candle the last couple  of nights and I’m looking forward to adding some twinkle lights to the garland this week for a little extra magic. I don’t think you can ever have enough lights during the holiday season! How do you decorate your mantel for Christmas?
