Our bedroom’s old fashioned Christmas tree just might be my favorite tree yet. If you love nostalgic trees with lots of homemade <\/em>ornaments you’re going to love this tree as much as we do! Today I’m sharing just how I got the look. <\/i><\/h4>\n

I’m sure I’ve said this before but I don’t know if its ever been so true as it is now. This just might be my favorite Christmas tree to date! There has been a number of trees and styles that we have enjoyed over the years but none that I can remembering loving as much as this one. To be honest I wasn’t feeling very inspired for the holiday season until I finished decorating this tree in our bedroom.<\/p>\n

I’ve always loved Christmas but this year I was feeling a bit underwhelmed. I enjoyed fall this year a little more than past years and I just felt as though Christmas was creeping in a little too early. I’m relieved to say that I’m over that and I’ve finally excited and inspired to finish my Christmas decorating! I finished decorating our bedroom tree this weekend and I couldn’t wait to share it with you. (You can find this tree here<\/strong>. This tree is a little more personal and sentimental to us than some of our other trees so it’s extra special.<\/p>\n

The first thing I placed on the tree was the clip-on candle lights<\/strong><\/a> followed by the striped stockings, glass ornaments and the sheet music bunting last.  <\/p>\n

I made the sheet music bunting about 5 years ago and have used it in difference places in our home over the years. I thought it would be perfect for this particular tree. Most of the ornaments are knitted mitten or stockings that I sewed but I did buy one pack of German style glass ornaments from Homegoods. They’re by Martha Stewart and they immediately caught my eye because of their pretty shapes, acorns, pinecones, and walnuts. <\/p>\n

I love incorporating glass ball ornaments in my holiday decorating. Whether it’s on the tree, in bowls on the kitchen shelves, in dough bowls, in hurricane candle holders, or in baskets by the tree they just make things a little extra magical with their shine and pretty colors. Most of mine have come from thrift stores or antique stores over the years.  <\/p>\n

How sweet is this wrapping? I’ll be sharing all about the wrapping paper, gift tags and ribbon that I’ll be using this year and just where you can find it very soon. This is the one and only gift that I’ve wrapped as of now. We typically like to place most of Charlie’s gifts under the tree within just a couple of days of Christmas to keep things exciting. I suppose he’ll get to shake this one early.  <\/p>\n

Do you have a favorite way to decorate our tree or any favorite homemade ornaments? I can still remember ornaments from my childhood and just how excited I would get taking them out each Christmas. As an adult I still get that ping of excitement when I unwrap our ornaments each year. Your tree doesn’t have to be full of fancy ornaments to be beautiful and festive.
