Decorating with English Iron Stone has become one of my favorite ways to style a table top. Each piece is unique in detail and patina. It will add instant charm to any space in your home!\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n

I can’t believe it’s already August. This summer went by so quickly and we stayed so busy that I haven’t had a chance to work on the blog for most of the last two months. School has already stated back in north Ga. I know, super early! I’m hoping to get back into my regular blogging routine and I think today is the perfect day for that. It’s the first Saturday of the month with means its time to share a little something for the Cozy Living series, hosted by my friend Jennifer from Town and Country Living<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Today I’m sharing a collection on vignettes that I’ve done over the last couple of years that include old English iron stone as the star of the show. It’s no secret that I have a love of iron stone. I’ve never been big on collecting things really but when it comes to antique copper cookware and English iron stone I have quite the soft spot. Iron stone is so versatile and can be used around your home to decorate with in so many ways. Each piece is unique in details and patina. It really has the potential to being interest and charm to your decor. Here’s a few of my favorite ways to use it around my home.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of summer I found this sweet antique table at a consignment sale. I knew it would be the perfect little table for our foyer. It fits this little corner so well and when it came to styling it I knew that I wanted to add some life and greenery by incorporating a live plant. I love using iron stone pitchers, chamber pots, etc. for holding plants. You can simply drill a small hole in the base of your iron stone or do what I typically do and keep the plant in a small plastic container and just sit it down into the iron stone. It’s super charming and beats a dull planter any day!<\/p>\n

Again I’ve used it as a planter in my family room as well has a large iron stone serving platter as a tray in this summer vignette that I did. I love the crisp white color paired with the rustic and patina of old books.<\/p>\n

It’s a bit hard to see in this photo but I use a small iron stone plate on a mirrored tray as a way to jewelry in our master bathroom. You could use a small to medium size plate for this. I love the beading and design around the edges of that plate.<\/p>\n

Iron stone is great to use a storage as well. In our master bathroom beside the tub I’m using a gravy boat as a well to hold our scrubby brushes. It’s a great way to add a little charm to the bathroom.<\/p>\n

In our kitchen I’m also using a gravy board to hold our dish soap and scrub brush. It keeps everything tidy and within reach. It also makes cleaning the counter tops super easy and fast.<\/p>\n

You can never go wrong with styling iron stone just as it is. I have several pitchers that I like to incorporate from time to time all over my house. Sometimes I use them to hold flowers and other times they look pretty empty, just like this little cream pitcher on my bedside table. They also make great holders for kitchen utensils. I love using them to organize our bar tools.<\/p>\n

There’s so many ways to incorporate iron stone in your decorating. The possibilities are endless! I’m still discovering new ways to use it around our home. Finding a purpose for it outside of the traditional dishware has been great and I love the charm it adds to a space. Do you love iron stone too and how do you use it?<\/p>\n
