Our hanging Easter egg tree is quite traditional and timeless. They’re so simple to make and get fun for kids. I thought it would be the perfect thing to share for a little spring inspiration!<\/em><\/h3>\r\n

Spring will hopefully be here very soon in north Georgia. We’re beyond ready to have some time outdoors to enjoy the warmer weather. Charlie practically lives outside spring through fall. I love that in spring he gets to run around in the sunshine and ride his bike. With hopes that flowers will be blooming soon there’s so many pastel colors around our home. They’ve really inspired me to finally make a hanging egg tree for our breakfast nook. It’s something that I’ve made before in past years but have never shared here on the blog. They’re quite traditional and I’m sure you’ve seen them before. Our hanging egg tree is so simple to make and get fun for kids. I thought it would be the perfect thing to share for Season’s Simplicity blog hop hosted by my friend Krista at The Happy Housie<\/a>! <\/p>\r\n

For the “tree” Charlie and I walked our yard and found three sticks that had fallen that we thought had a good shape. The perfectionist in me always has fun with things like that, ha!  <\/p>\r\n

I put them in one of my favorite pitchers using some small wooden blocks to hold the sticks upright. You could use a vase, urn, or large bowl for this tree. Sand would also be a great way to hold the tree upright. Don’t worry about how it looks because the top of the pitcher will be filled with natural moss. <\/p>\r\n

For the eggs I like to use a mix of speckled and solid eggs. You can purchase faux eggs at most craft stores and some home decor stores such as Pottery Barn<\/a><\/strong>. I use a thin twine to loop around the egg and tie. It can be a bit tricky to get the egg to stay in place while getting the twine around it. This is where a small dab of hot glue comes in handy. I personally hate hot glue so I just use my knees to hold the egg while I tie off the twine, as funny as that sounds. Make a second loop at the top to hang onto your tree branches. <\/p>\r\n

I like to use some fresh moss at the base of my tree. I purchased this moss at Joann’s or Michael’s, believe. <\/p>\r\n

Once you get your tree the way you like it with the right number of eggs, sit back and enjoy! These are perfect to incorporate into a vignette or a centerpiece for your dining table, coffee table or on a simple entry way table.  <\/p>\r\n

I naturally gravitate towards more earth tones and soft neutrals but in the spring time I love to bring in some soft pastels and our hanging egg tree is perfect for this. It’s just the right amount of Easter color and of course Charlie loves it! Some of the eggs pictured may or may not currently be dinosaur eggs for his Jurassic Park toys. Sons sure make life fun!
