Spring is on its way and I can’t think of a better way to ring it in than with a classic spring vignette that’s a great mix of old and new!<\/em><\/h4>\n

Maybe it’s the perpetual rainfall that we’ve had all fall and winter but I can’t remember a time that I was ever this excited for spring. I know we still have a little more of winter to get through but I can see the pretty blooms at the end of tunnel. This past week our home has been full of changes. We’re currently living with a gutted master bathroom and there’s a few more projects here and there around the rest of our home. With all of this going on I made no plans to bring a new piece of furniture into the chaos, but things have a way of finding you when you’re least expecting it. This 1800’s pine chest was just that thing!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Last weekend I had a girl’s weekend with one of my closest friends. We went to down town\u00a0Dahlonega and walked the town, had lunch at a cute cafe and popped into a few antique stores. On our way back we swung into a little shop in Dawsonville that was new to me at the time. There she sat. The dresser that I had been hunting for for at least two years. My heart did a flip and then slowly began to sink. I just knew that it wasn’t going to be in my budget that day. I’m thrilled to report that not only was it within my budget but I brought it home with me! Once I found it’s home in our family room, I put together a spring vignette with a few of my favorite antique pieces. Big thanks to our host, Krista from The Happy Housie<\/a> for hosting this great group of ladies who are sharing their spring vignettes and mantels with you today!<\/p>\n

Most of the decor around our house consists of items passed down to us or things that I’ve found at antique stores or markets over the years. My style is a mix of new and old and I love incorporating those older items not only into everyday decorating but into my seasonal decor as well. I love that each treasure has a story. I love the charm and the warmth that older items add to our home.<\/p>\n

The flower arrangements consists of fresh eucalyptus and faux tulips. I recently shared the details on these pretty tulips<\/a>.<\/strong> They’re the only ones I’ve ever seen that look and feel like the real thing. I’m a real flower kinda gal, so that’s saying a lot coming from me. You can find them here<\/a><\/strong>. I do love the real thing but these are great to use without the short life of real tulips.<\/p>\n

This is one of my favorite spots in our family room. It’s a little nook with the most perfect window. We once thought about closing it off to create a butler’s pantry. Although that would have been handy and pretty neat, I’m glad we decided to keep it as it. It’s the perfect corner for my little armchair.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

These binoculars were also a random find. Over a year ago I went to a local antique market that opens once a month and I had the pleasure of chatting with a woman who’s father was a collector of books and and theater items. These were among his collection and I loved them instantly.\u00a0 One of my favorite decorating books is Nora’s Country House book<\/a><\/strong>. It’s a great addition to anyone who loves a country home as much as I do.<\/p>\n

I’ve been slowly swapping out my winter pillow covers for one with spring colors. I sewed each of these myself. The block print fabric was actually once a cloth napkin. Both fabrics are absolute classics in my book!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Our family room is one room that we spend a lot of time in as a family. I’m just thrilled that the antique chest made it’s home there. Not only is it great for storage but it’s the perfect place to create sweet vignettes. Have you started to decorate for spring yet?
