For the last couple of years here on the blog I’ve shared our current projects and renovations. I’ve got many projects planned but this year I want to be more diligent in sharing things that inspire me in the hopes that they’ll inspire you too. My style has grown and become more rooted over the years and so much of what I love has been a mix of styles and ideas from places I’ve traveled and home’s I’ve had the pleasure in walking thru or from just simply flipping through a book or magazine. One source for continuous inspiration I have found is Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle<\/a> magazine. Not only do they share classic and timeless homes but they just so happen to be here in my home state of Georgia. Some of the homes they share I’ve passed by from time to time. It’s not to see the interiors and know the story of those who live there.<\/p>\n

Today wanted to share a home that’s located in Atlanta, just 45 minutes from me that was built in the 1930’s. The homeowners had originally purchased a new build but quickly realized that it was not for them and found themselves being pulled to something older with a little more character. Here’s the home they settled into –<\/p>\n

I love the simplicity of this foyer. I’m a big fan of the staircase. I love the contrast of the white and dark gray. It’s very similar to the colors and style of my own staircase. The antique chest is the icing on the cake. Every detail is simple yet elegant.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The family room just might be my favorite room in this house. The light walls and trim balanced with the bold oriental rug is stunning. It’s light and airy with a very fresh feel. It looks perfectly summer to me.<\/p>\n

The kitchen was a bit of a surprise to me. I love that they went with something a little unexpected with the cabinet color. I planned to see white cabinets but instead we have a soft retro color. The white back splash completes the look and it makes for a fun feel. The window above the sink makes the room!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The nursery is one of my all time favorite nurseries. The subtle striped wallpaper is beautiful and the sitting area adds a cozy place to sit. The room is very serene.<\/p>\n

This master bedroom in some ways reminds me of my own. I love the light yet warm neutral wall color and bedding. The vintage artwork above the bed is just the right size to flank the window.<\/p>\n

Every detail is so well thought out and is simple yet perfect.<\/p>\n
