With just a few days before Christmas simple and quick tablescapes are a must! This last minute Christmas tablescape & garland is easy & perfectly elegant.<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/h2>\r\n

We’re in the home stretch friends! Can you believe we only have 6 more sleeps until the big day? The Christmas season has always been one of my favorites. If I’m honest I would have to say that the days leading up to it are really what I enjoy so much. The preparations, festive activities, and anticipation. Some of the last minute details are also those that I enjoy the most. I recently set the table for some friends of ours and Charlie and I made some fresh citrus garland. This tablescape is perfect for those last minute holiday gatherings and citrus garland not only makes your home smell amazing, it’s easy and fun to make with kids!<\/p>\r\n

Citrus garland is an old tradition for many people. It’s not necessary a tradition in our home but we do enjoy making it from time to time. In the past we’ve used cranberries and popcorn as well. This year Charlie and I used fresh orange slices and cinnamon sticks.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

First you’ll need to dehydrate your oranges. We sliced one orange into about 1\/8″ thick slices and placed them on a cookie sheet. We put them into the oven at 200 degrees and baked for one hour, flipped each slice and baked for one hour more.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

You want the moisture from the orange to be completely gone and it to be almost opaque in the center. Once they’re completely dried they’re done!\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Charlie and I then fed some bakers twine through the orange slices and tied on a cinnamon stick in between each slice. I love the way cinnamon smells and I think it’s a cute touch.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

We decided to hang it in the dining room, over the mantel. Our dining room has never smelled better!\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Let’s talk about this simple and quick tablescape. I took a faux garland swag and ran it down the middle of the table. I would have loved to have used some real greenery but all of the live greenery is getting a little crispy over here. It’s also difficult to find this late into the season where we live. The faux garland works just fine for this.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I incorporated some vintage ball ornaments, fresh oranges and, brass candle sticks. Each plate got a vintage pine cone ornament and ribbon. It’s simple and elegant and only took 10 minutes!\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You could use regular ball ornaments, natural pine cones, fresh fruit or place cards to dress each plate with.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I hung my vintage baking pan sconces in the dining room this year. You can see how I made those last year here<\/a><\/strong>. They’re one of my favorite holiday decor items.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Our dining room is ready for our last couple of get-togethers before the big day. This simple tablescape will leave your guests thinking you spent a lot of time prepping for their arrival. With just a few days before Christmas easy and quick is a must in our home.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
