With how long I&#8217;ve waited to start the makeover you&#8217;d think it would be this huge undertaking but honestly it&#8217;s been quite a breeze. I&#8217;m finally working on getting my home office completed. It&#8217;s been on the back burner for some time now and I&#8217;ve been using whatever we already had to make the space usable. After Christmas I decided it was time to just start fresh or mostly fresh and give it a proper makeover. Although we don&#8217;t have a big budget set aside for this space I&#8217;m working around that and doing a few things that will give the room some big impact without spending a lot. I&#8217;m calling it my tranquil and traditional home office. I had originally set up shop in the smallest bedroom but recently decided to move it into the larger guest bedroom and put our guest room furniture into the smaller room. It just made sense for my office to be a little larger since I use the space every day and Charlie will be needing a desk soon once he starts homeschooling this fall. So this was the room before we moved in. Hardwood floors have been installed, furniture removed and walls and trim have been painted. I painted the walls in Simply White by Benjamin Moore and the large back wall now has floor to ceiling board and batten. That project came in at $25! It was such an inexpensive project that really adds a little character to the space. We&#8217;re planning on uses some furniture we already have for that and making some altercations to turn it into the perfect desk. We&#8217;ll see how that turns out! I already have two<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ikea.com\/us\/en\/catalog\/products\/S69896888\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> wicker arm chairs<\/a> that used to be in our family room but have since moved into my office. I also was given the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ikea.com\/us\/en\/catalog\/products\/30371730\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cabinet<\/a> from a friend. I decided to add two sconces for extra lighting for the desk area. I&#8217;m planning on floating the desk off of this wall and hanging some photos or artwork in the middle of the two sconces. I&#8217;m currently looking for the perfect piece. I may also swap out the white fabric shades for a brass shade soon. I do like the softness the fabric shades adds but thing a brass shade would give the sconces a more sophisticated look. I love the blues and soft blush colors. I&#8217;m still hinting for the perfect light fixture.
