My love for hot cocoa runs deep, friends. What better time is there to enjoy a warm cup of chocolate goodness than Christmas Eve or Christmas day? Sure, you can throw a pack of store bought cocoa mix into a mug of hot water but where’s the fun in that? I first had this homemade hot cocoa at a friends home who had made it for use Halloween night and I’ve loved it ever since. She told me that she puts it in her crock pot for Christmas morning and her family enjoys a glass while they open their gifts. I thought is was such a fantastic idea that I had to share it with you all. I’ve already made it a couple times this Christmas season and plan to do the exact same tradition that my dear friend does each year with her family. This recipe is rich and if you’re looking for something healthy and non-fat, this is NOT your recipe.       Combine all ingredients into a crock pot for 2 hours on high or 4 hours on low, making sure to stir every so often until chocolate has completely melted. <\/p>

      You can also cook on your stove top on low heat, stirring until chocolate has completely melted and hot cocoa is warm. <\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    2. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      Top with marshmallows, whip cream or peppermint stick or all of them! <\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ol>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      I’ll be making a pot this Christmas eve for my husband and I to enjoy while we put the gifts around the tree after Charlie goes to sleep. We top ours with marshmallows and a peppermint stick. If you’re not smothering it with marshmallows your’re not drinking it right!<\/p>\n
