Thank you, Penny! What a great idea with the gum balls. We had several of those trees at our previous home and I would have never thought to do that, so genius! Thank you for sharing that. I’ll take any advise I can get when it comes to gardening. I’m still a bit of a beginner. 🙂

Love your style! I say plant tons and tons of hostas – they keep coming back every year and are about fool proof. They come in so many interesting shades of green! When I lived in AR, I also had several messy “gum ball” trees. While most folks cussed them, they turned out to be seriously very handy. I collected tons of the “balls” and spread them on my hosta beds before they sprung up in the spring. Nary a snail attempted that journey and risk getting cut apart. Therefore, my leaves were always beautiful and not holy with bug chews. Just a thought! Congrats on your new addition!

Thank you so much, Nancy! It’s coming along slowly. We’ll get there eventually. If it’s not time it’s money. We’re just enjoying the process and taking it little by little.
